Red Rock Roasters is a small, family owned coffee roasting business located in New Mexico. They specialize in small batch gourmet coffee roasting, and because they are located at over 5,000 feet altitude, they're able to roast the beans at low temperatures for longer periods of time, resulting in a smooth-bodied finished product that doesn't have a hint of the burnt taste frequently associated small batch roasters.

Smooth, sweet espresso that is perfectly roasted at a medium level. Very delicious, whether I Moka it, French Press, or V60, any ground choice works great. Love that it is organic as well. Always like helping the smaller farmers.

I enjoyed this coffee at full strength, but prefer a darker roast.... I use it with my Espro P7 and the flavors are wonderful.

Red Rock Roasters Espresso Strata is described as a medium-dark roast. For the 4 decades I've been drinking coffee, I've stuck with dark roast beans, and I realize that by so doing, I've been missing out on flavors that are said to be lost in the roasting process. So I was curious to discover how I might respond to a highly rated medium-dark roast such as Espresso Strata. And I'm impressed enough to realize that it's time for me to expand my coffee bean choices beyond dark alone.
I had to experiment with my pour-over recipe to get the perfect cup of Espresso Strata. I tried different grinds with the Lido 3 manual grinder that I recently purchased from French Press Coffee and found that grinds a bit finer than what I typically use for very dark, oily beans works best for my palate.
I've prepared Espresso Strata via pour-over, using Hario V60 and Bee House drippers), and French Press, using a Bodum Chambord French Press (as sold at French Press Coffee), and with the right recipe the results are consistently delicious. I look forward to trying Espresso Strata with my Aeropress. And I look forward to trying other Red Rock Roasters beans in the future.

Very good coffee. Not quite as strong as I'm used to but a good chocolately flavor. Crema reminds me Lavazza. I use a semi-automatic Breville machine. Had to turn the grind up close to fine to produce well timed doppio. Included a picture but for some reason the website rotated left and I couldn't fix it.
Love this beans for nice dark chocolate notes. Also goes very well with my Aeropress. Thanks Red Rock Roasters!!!
