My comments pretty much echo the others I've read here. Really wasn't sure if it's a worthwhile upgrade (I replaced both the burr cone and ring) but I'm no longer skeptical. Mine was over 10 years old and while during replacement I could not definitively say that the old one was "dull", the new one just chews through the beans at at least three times the speed. I'm extremely consistent with beans/process and I can say unequivocally that the exact same coffee has much better extraction with the upgrade/new burrs. Definitely use the youtube impact wrench process. It's easy.

I have not yet replaced Burr & Cone, yet. Amazing when a person actually "cleans" the unit, how well it performs! LOL! However, I have the components, when time come to replace, no delays. I will say, (I know this isn't the place, to address..) I wish the Baratza had a longer time than 40 seconds. You have to push that button 10 time to grind a full hopper, which I store in a sealed container. It is what it is. I sure do like the flavor of fresh ground, however!

My grinder (Encore) is ten years old and still kicking. The M2 burr has totally improved it — it's quieter, grinds faster, and is way more precise and consistent for espresso. I should have done this years ago.

Didn't have a 15/16 socket, but was able to remove the M3 burr with hammer drill and a 13/16 socket, with care. Grinds considerable faster at the #8 setting on the Encore. I am glad I made the purchase.

The grinding time on my Baratza was getting longer each week, so it was time to replace the burrs. After ordering online the parts were shipped promptly. The instructional videos were quite helpful- I never would have managed the removal of the old burr without the technique provided by the video. Disassembly, cleaning and installation of the replacement parts all took about 30 minutes, and my grinder was functioning like new again.

Perfect replacement! Still need to adjust fine details but it’s already so much more consistent than my M3 burr. Many videos are online that show how to deconstruct and reassemble the grinder.
