ABOUT:

Red Rock Roasters is a small, family owned coffee roasting business located in New Mexico. They specialize in small batch gourmet coffee roasting, and because they are located at over 5,000 feet altitude, they're able to roast the beans at low temperatures for longer periods of time, resulting in a smooth-bodied finished product that doesn't have a hint of the burnt taste frequently associated small batch roasters.

pretty good

i tried this in my espresso machine and in a stovetop pot. a little chocolatey, a little earthy, not much fruitiness for a light roast. pretty good beans, but not exceptional.

Dear Dave! Thank you for your feedback. We are appreciate it very much. All the best, FrenchPressCoffee.com

The coffee had a pronounced acidity that is pronounced, but not much else. The acidity seemed to be the most notable thing about the coffee. It was still pleasant and had a lasting aftertaste. This wasn't a medium roast. It was so light that my grinder had to work to grind it.

Enjoyable using French Press

We tried it using a drip machine and Chemex at different grinds and bean amounts, and could not come up with a combo that tasted good to us. But the beans smelled so good! Almost gave up on it, then we tried it using the French press and enjoyed it quite a bit. We'd agree with the other reviewer that a little bolder taste would be more to our liking and closer to Sumatra that we're used to. Tasted lighter than the medium blend that it was labeled.

Dear Jeff! Thank you for your feedback. We are appreciate it very much. All the best, FrenchPressCoffee.com

Sumatra Cowboy Coffee Style

When someone "still" in these days expressing they are brewing coffee up Cowboy style, it's a slight version of doing a french press...It even would carry over in to Navajo style....keeping things simple and basic. What's important is all the steps following a great French Press executed coffee and top on the list is always a quality coffee bean...The Sumatra Golden Gayo whole Bean performs! And probably the first "real" Sumatra I've tasted in a long time and I know that "special" Sumatra when it hits the truth of taste. I give my complimentary thumbs up.... 👍! And I also suggest to work towards a slight more taste of boldness for the roasted-taste. In Gratitude National River Artist Lew Wilson 🌎
